Eclipse RCP

The Eclipse Rich Client Plaftorm (RCP) has been around for some time since eclipse 3.0.

Initially, eclipse was widely known as an IDE for Java (or C/C++) development. It provided rich editing features, such as syntax highlighting, code completion, outline view and many more...

The major benefit of eclipse is that it runs on most major platforms, e.g. Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and UNIX platforms. Reusing the existing architecture, eclipse IDE allows developers to build thick client programs that enjoy the same benefit, i.e. multi-platform support.

On top of the core layer, eclipse provides a rich set of components, e.g. SWT, JFace, UI, and etc., so developers can use these components to build feature-rich applications.

A number of RCP applications have been developed. For your interest, please follow the links below.
